It’s already been two years since I started up my blog at stevepiccolo.blogspot.com. Since that time, I have seen lots of friends and family start up their own blogs, which is great. Now I have a way to see what’s going on with them a little better.

My blog on blogspot.com has been nice, but I have kind of outgrown it. It’s a free service provided by Google, but it has some limitations. Another free service for blogging that I have used (for some of my other blogs) is wordpress.com. I really like their software because it’s more user friendly, it’s easier to see what people are reading on your blog, and it has more features. You can also get WordPress for your own server if you have one.

My new blog is on my brother-in-law’s server (thankfully to him), and it uses WordPress. It’s using the address stevepiccolo.hammerpig.com, which is kind of a funny name, but it goes back to my old running days. You’ll have to ask me sometime. If you were subscribed to my old blog, you’ll automatically be subscribed to the new one.

My setup has some extra plugins that wordpress.com doesn’t have, so if you want to start up a free blog on this server, let me know.

Anyway, I found a site that explained how to move from blogspot.com to WordPress really easily. You can find this document here.
