More Photos and Videos of Kate

We’ve been taking pictures and videos regularly. I have just been adding the photos to the same location. So you might just check back there periodically for new ones.
The videos I’ll probably just post directly on my blog (see below).
We found out that she really liked listening to music.

Firefox Version 3 Is Out

In case you didn’t know, there is a new version of Firefox out. Firefox is a Web browser that is much better than Internet Explorer. It is programmed by volunteers who want people to have a better experience browsing the Web. I have been using it for years. And it’s now used by 18.41% of [...]

Our Little Blue Light Special

Our sweet little baby is doing well. We came home from the hospital on Sunday. She has had some minor troubles the past couple days. She is still learning the whole idea of eating, so that’s been a bit of a process.
She also has tested positive for jaundice, which is where a baby’s skin [...]

Baby Girl!!

Laurel delivered the baby at 12:01 PM!! Sorry I haven’t posted anything sooner. Was kinda busy…
She’s doing great and healthy. She has cried a lot but now is settling down. I think she is tired. She weighs 7 lbs 4 oz and is 20.5 inches long. She had a checkup and everything looks [...]

She’s Moving Quickly

Laurel is already dilated to a 9. The doctor said she is moving very quickly for a first baby. He said she might have the baby by lunchtime if things keep progressing like this.
Laurel isn’t in any pain right now, which is an amazing thing.

Making Progress

Well, the doctor came in this morning and broke her water for her. And she is getting a drug infused into her that will speed up labor. She quickly became dilated to about a 5 after that. So she’s halfway there (the goal is to reach a 10 before you start to push).
She’s still smiling [...]

Live Coverage from the Hospital

Laurel went to the doctor a couple days ago, and she had started to dilate a little. Yesterday she wasn’t having many contractions, so she spent the day rearranging things in our home, went to lunch with her friend Cami, and watched me play softball. She felt OK physically. We stayed up till about midnight [...]

About John McCain’s Prisoner-of-War Experience

I ran across an article that was published in US News and World Report in 1973 after John McCain was released from being a POW for 5 1/2 years. They republished it recently. It was very interesting to read. Sometimes we think it’s bad when we have to deal with difficult circumstances, but hearing his [...]

Life Comes At You Quickly

One year ago today, June 11, 2007, Laurel and I became engaged to be married. Two months later, on August 11, 2007, we were married in the Salt Lake Temple. We were both anxious to “start our family,” and we were fortunate that Laurel became pregnant within 6-7 weeks (we found out on October 11, [...]
