What Is a Blog?
You’re reading one right now. Not as big a deal as you might have thought.
Simply put, a blog is a Web site where someone (or a group of people) can post text, pictures, audio, and video. Many things about blogging are making it increasingly popular:
- Ease of use. You can put content on the Web easily without having to know much about creating Web pages. It allows you to focus on your content more than on how your web site looks.
- It’s free. Several sites (http://www.blogger.com and http://www.wordpress.com are popular) allow you to create blogs for free.
- Self expression. The Internet is about more than consuming other people’s content. Now it’s easier than ever to publish your own content.
- Community. Blogs are a way for people to share ideas with those who have similar interests. It’s really fun when someone actually reads what you write and gives you feedback (hint, hint).
- Syndication. It’s easy to stay updated on blogs using feeds.
One way to use blogs is to keep in touch which your family.
A much more detailed definition of blogs can be found at one of my favorite sites: Wikipedia.org.
P.S. If you find this posting useful, please leave me a comment. And if you have a blog, send me a link and I’ll subscribe to yours.

I really like all of your descriptions about what a blog is. The way you describe a blog is very simple yet informing. I honestly don’t have any suggestions for improvement.

Thanks for helping me understand what a blog is. Your information was clear , and for those of us of the typerwriter era, it sounded like even we could do a blog, or at least tune into and participate in a few (yours and Matthew’s).
